Engine for Contessa 26

I am interested in buying a 1971 Contessa 26-it is in good condition and well spec'd generally but is fairly fully priced (11K) and has the original petter engine. Does anyone recommend a replacement engine, and know how much that would cost

I would be very grateful if anyone can help

had a 1978 26 with yanmar 1G10.no problem.11k seems a little OTT. has it been unpoxed or repainted lately to justify the price.9 ish for a 71 boat seems nearer the mark.Good sea boat ,will look after you , but a bit cramped . The designer won the round the Island this year with one.
