Hi guys, I wonder if I could get an opinion on this..

While cleaning things [1GM10] in order to cure my intermittent starting problem of having to press starter button sometimes 5 or 6 times, I came across these connectons which aren't connected to anything. The engine has started and run perfectly ok with it like this, as far as I know it's always been this way. I can't see where they would connect too, maybe I dislodged them while cleaning but I really don't think so.
In the first pic there are 4 near the center of pic, in the second behind engine panel just the one smaller molded connector, and there is nothing to connect it too.. I've looked!

What do you think?!

There will be standard wiring in the original Yanmar wiring harness which may or may not be used, it depends on options. But on your first picture there is an engine sender near the top of the picture which doesn't have a wire going to it and it definitely should.

ah.. yes I saw that.. none of the 3 diff. types of loose connections there fit it, I tried.. I'll have to check, thanks!

Is the wire to the sender not the white one with the rubber cap on it resting on the engine earth ? Also the blue scotchlock should be checked those things are bad news.

I know what you mean, it looks like it should be, but that one is the type that you would screw underneath a bolt, it's flat and circular, hole in middle.
The sender is the one that looks like a tiny tv aerial type, between the red lead and the fuel pipe yes?
I'll check that blue one too thanks!

The sensor at the top is the coolant temp switch and as you say should have the white with blue tracer wire attached to it.

There are a few spare connectors on a standard loom, at least one plastic multi-connector and a couple of spade terminals.

The grey plastic holder just above the greaser handle in the first photo should have a fuse in it - and it's a really stupid place to put one as you would never find the thing if it went.

Thanks dinghyman and everyone else [i'll check that fuse].

Can always rely on this forum for top-notch replys.

All the best!
