Engine Bearers

Anyone know what profile the engine bearers are in a Sadler 29?
Are they a steel plate, channel section or angle etc
They are fully moulded in so cannot see them.

My Sadler 32 is blessed with steel bearers, open to see and get at with ease.

Dave, you've been searching an answer for this for a while without success even on Sadler forum. The 26 and 29 are similar boats so are very likely to have same type engine beds. Mine a 26 has aluminium plate under the flat bed area. The 32 is an older design which is single skin I believe so is likely different. Best thing you can do is drill a hole with a 3 or 4mm bit and see what swarf comes up. you'll know immediately if its alloy even by ease of drilling through alone. you can discount steel by just using a magnet.
I found there was plate under the full length of bed on 26.
