Should i replace the battery with the type suggested by the engine supplier or get the biggest that will fit in the box? (Motorsailer with inbd. 40hp diesel charging from alternator & aero4gen with x split.)
I think bigger the better.... there are jump leads to take power from domestics if need be, but they are 'domestics' !..not starters. Pretty good though..we have had her six years now and used regularly so not bad life. Lucas again i think.
Of the course the actual figures will tell but it seems to me that Quoting CCA cold cranking amps for a small starting battery is fine but for a big leisure battery being big it will provide a lot of CCA (just not a lot compared to its size)
Don't forget that you have to be able to lift the blighter into the boat and into the box otherwise big is beautiful. If you feel like spending the cash. olewill
