Has anyone had any experience of free-ing off Z-Drive swivel not long had the boat and the previous owner fell short on the maintenance .I do know that these drives are the original perkins built Also any ideas on also free-ing off the reverse claw I am concerned that these may be jammed and as we are inland based well dont need to go on over potential damage Help Please!!

The swivel plate is locked in place with a pin, this is usually the only part that gets stuck. sometimes these are locked intentionaly and IMHO i would be tempted to leave it solid and forget about using it.

The reverse catch is a different matter and MUST work or you could have costly damage if you hit the bottom, to free this select foward gear, spray loads of WD40 on the ends of the catch and gently tap it up and down untill it works freely by hand.
