Anyone on here from this years East Med Yacht Rally ?
Anyone know of a blog from one of the rally participants?

I know its nearly finished but I had been hoping to follow the progress of this year rally on the EMYR web site but nothing posted for over a month.

I heard from friends that were on the rally that "Egypt pulled out at last minute" (their words) and that they also didn't get to Lebanon because of the political situation. They left the rally in Ashkelon. I'm not sure if the rally has ended or if the Israel stage was prolonged due to Egypt pulling out. I haven't come across anyone's blogs from the EMYR.

We have just had the message that the EMYR has now ended. Lebanon and Egypt have been cancelled but individuals can go to Egypt under there own steam if they want.

With Syria off the schedule that doesnt leave much of a Rally ...
Id be interested in why they didnt go to Lebanon & Egypt

Lebanon refused entry as they had been to the TRNC and Egypt due to the unrest.

I thought Lebanon pulled out because the rally announced it was going to Israel direct from Lebanon; past rallies at least made the pretence of going to Famagusta before going to Israel.

I was hoping to sign up for next year or 2014 but ...

with only half the usual numbers participating this year and the increased levels of unrest in the Middle East looks like this rally has run its course.
