just as the fine weather is here my boat with twin 3.0 mercruisers goes wrong BAH !!!!!!!
engine oil is turning milky, but no loss of coolant on the fresh water side or mayonaise in the coolant header tank, most common suggestion is rotten manifold but i dont see how water is getting into the oil from there. surely the thing would hydraulic
HELP /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

might be simple!
running ok,coolant level constant.
condensation maybe, may occur with short journeys but should dissapear after a decent run.oil level should return to normal.thats with bike motors anyway, good luck, look on the bright side!

Could be blown head gasket. Water leaks into the oil keeping the apparent oil level correct and oil passes into the water jacket. No loss of fluids but you get emulsified gunge.

Although you say your coolant level appears ok, your exhaust manifold/risers are sea water cooled, I think you may need to replace manifold/risers/riser to manifold gasket.

The oil cooler could be the problem,
Do you get any oil from the exhaust?
When the engine is turned off and the oil pressure drops the water can then get into the oil ways and emulsify the oil. Remove the oil heat exchanger and have it checked, they should be considered consumables and replaced approx every 3-4 years.
It will be raw water that is in the engine so you will need to give it a good flush through with flushing oil and then change the filters. With luck you shouldn’t have any long term damage. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
