As we sit at our keyboards, warm and comfortable with pleasant smells wafting from the kitchen, let's spare a thought for the crew of the yacht stuck at a very uncomfortable angle on the cill at Emsworth Yacht Harbour. It's going to be a long cold evening for them. Hope they've got a bottle of something warming.

"There but for the Grace of God ....."

Anyone going near St Peter Port/Guernsey to refuel should look carefully at the array of photographs, under glass at the chandler's till, of boats stuck precariously on the marina sill, and others aground/on their sides after mooring to the *drying* fuel pontoon, and wandering off into town.

Spectacular!

He was safely off in time for me to creep back in tonight at 7:30pm. Met him on the pontoon - none the worse for wear...

Shame about the 35' Sunseeker that put out a Pan Pan in Portsmouth harbour this morning - claimed to have a rope around his prop and was stuck. Certainly was when the police launch turned up and pointed out that he was high and dry on a mud bank!!!
