When: Thursday 19 May 2016
Where: Radcot Lock
What’s happening: Emergency lock closure for replacement of rubbing timber
Emergency works are required to the lock chamber at Radcot Lock. One of the wooden rubbing timbers in the lock chamber has broken in half. This has left a hazard which boats could now become hung up on, to the danger of the boat’s crew.
In order to replace the broken rubbing timber a lock closure is necessary. The machinery required will occupy the entire chamber and the lock will need to be empty to carry out the work. The lock will be closed from 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 6pm on Thursday 19 May 2016. The lock will be open for through passage for an hour from 1pm to 2pm.
We apologise for any inconvenience this restriction causes and thank you for your patience during this time.
Many thanks
