Hi guys,

I need to contact a relative (my uncle) who is on MV Pont Aven on his way to Cork. He doesn't have a mobile phone who can work abroad hence my request,
His mother in law (my grand mother) passed away an hour ago and we would need to let him know so he can contact his wife and come back in the best delay.

In your position I would contact Brittany Ferries in Cork; they would be able to contact MV Pont Aven and get the message to him.

Sorry to hear your news. Have you tried their Plymouth number 01752 648000? They may be able to pass a message.

It's probably too late in the day, but as a (very) long shot you could try emailing restaurant.bookings@brittanyferries.com .. they appear to be picked up by staff on Pont Aven or Cap Finisterre and might be able to pass a message. The ships have a 24x7 Internet connection, so fingers crossed.

Thanks guys. All good recommendation but I am now thinkimg that my uncle must be sleeping and that I might as well wait first thing in the morning.

Contact the ferry company directly in cork or their head office. They will be able to contact the ship and will wait for him to get up in the morning before giving the message. if you ask.
They will most likely go out of their way to help him get back.
A quiet terminal may not be manned up with an public switchboard or operator until about an hour before scheduled arrival if its an early arrival.
If you have difficulty getting a live person at company. A call to Coast Guard. Explain situation. They will have contact details for the ship and can and would happily relay a message Via Phone rather than air. to the Vessel.
