Went to inspect a boat today (F33)

When I press all the buttons on the electric panel (4 buttons) I can hear the relay click no problem. However, the port side (green LED's) are stuck on. All green LED's are stick on except for the bottom one (to indicate that the trim tab is down)

The broker went out to the back of the boat and could see that the starboard tab was infact moving.

The same thing shows on the other control panel up on the fly-bridge

Has anyone experienced this before? It's as if the LED's are just 'stuck'. Wonder if it's just a case of fixing something in the control panel at the lower helm?

The LED's are controlled by a pot in the leg, this is linked via 3 cables in the 5 core cable between display and leg.

I suspect a bad connection, or broken wire that is giving a false reading, you need to check the cable and connections.

Thanks for the info. An offer on the boat is subject to this (among other) issues being sorted so it was curiosity getting to me more than anything

Just had exactly the same problem, except I couldn't see if the tab was moving or not. But the 'stuck' LEDs were because of a failure of the pot or the wiring, and we ended up replacing the whole actuator. They're about £200, FWIW.

If there are two panels (fly and saloon) worth checking both are the same. I had an issue with the panel on the fly bridge and confirmed by swapping panels.

When I took it apart there was a resistor burnt out, I had a spare so cost nothing to replace. Resistors are cheap to buy.

Thanks for the info. Thankfully it's 'not my problem' to fix, it was just curiosity getting the better of me.

Unless it turns into a serious haggling tool.... :)
