Folks,
Further to my other thread, while viewing an S28 on the weekend, I was playing about with the trim tabs....

When using the top white button to bring both port and starboard tabs DOWN, the starboard trim tab was showing a low longer to lower on the LED's, so according to the LED's the tabs are not dropping at equal speeds

The same happens when raising both tabs together, the starboard side is taking a lot longer to raise.

Has anyone had this issue?

The relay's seem to work fine, as when either of the 4 buttons (top, bottom, port, stbd) are pressed, you can hear the 'click' fine and the LED's lighting - just the stbd is a low slower than port

Could be a bad connection causing a volt drop, or water ingress in motor unit, resulting in gears starting to rust.

Thanks for the info Brian.

So i'm thinking worst case scenario it's a new trim unit on the stbd side?

I didn't think of a bad connection as I didn't look behind the unit to see if there were lose wires going into the unit

It could be at the stern were there used to be a joint between harness and trim motor feed cables.

if the owner allows... swap the connection over at the control panel or trim tab control box... if the fault follows, suspect the trim tab actuator and knock a couple of hundred notes off the deal as the actuators aren't cheap if Lenco are anything to go by (not got experience of Eltrims)... if the fault stays with the same led, I'd suggest it could be either a false indication that's nothing more than an annoyance or the control box is duff which you'd need to factor in after looking up how much they are to replace..

Thanks Gary. If things proceed I will ask for this - the seller is genuine so I don't see it being an issue
