Is the ellen macarthur autobiography a good read?? Going to be starting to learn to sail dinghies in october and fancy some inspirational reading - can anyone recommomend any other books as well??

Not much about how to sail, but lots about getting noticed, getting sponsors & getting things done.
Try Robin Knox-Johnson's account of winning the first RTW in Suhaili. Slocum is another classic widely available in book club editions cheaply. Erskine Childers, Riddle of the Sands and Maurice Griffiths, Magic of the Swatchways are 2 good books about cruising shallow waters.
