just checked out the B&Q and Vendee websites. Ellen has passed the back markers of the vendee fleet - she is in 108E with raphael dinelli in 103E. her speed is over 20 knots compared to mike golding who at 16 knots is the fastest in the vendee at present.

one hull good
two hulls better
three hulls b****y amazing /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Over a day ahead now....looking very good for the record.

Still early days to a certain extent but good to have some miles in the bank.

So Ellen takes the record in February and Mike Golding wins the Vendee.

Been following the pair of them.....both looking GOOD !

Golding closing in on the leaders quite consistently now.

Absolutely fantastic after the conditions on Christmas day. What courage to sail back into the front that caused her so much trouble and now be ahead of it. My concern is now for the icebergs that the leaders in the Vendee have had to contend with. And how lucky for V.M.I to survive an impact with one. I hope Ellen will have been given all the reported positions of the icebergs.

1 day 15 hours ahead now.

If she keeps this up she will smash the record...sub 70 days ? Gotta be possible.

Now 2 days, 12hrs ahead. Magnificent, but a long way to go yet. Going about with my fingers and legs crossed.

Watched her leave Falmouth with a lump in my throat. What guts.
