FYI we met Jeff, the treasurer of Eling Sailing Club. Really great guy. The information from him was interesting. They love visitors. The club is open several evenings per week for drinks. They don’t serve food but have catering facilities for visitors to use. I draw 1.9 meters and he confirm d that I could get in to the club approx +-45 mins HW so a bit tight, however, they have one mooring spot on a pontoon that lies in 2.5m above CD. You need to fender 2-3 feet off the dock so a big fender helps. To reserve this he suggested sending an email to the club a few days before.
Berths available st around £500 per year but you need to live within 25 miles of Eling.
A great place and well worth a visit. Hope this helps.
Subsequently spoke to club. They have mooring buoys at Bury Swinging Ground. These are surveyed every two years and was assured that they are good to use and that they are happy for anyone to pick one up for a short stay. Half of the buoys belong to Marchwood SC. Eling SC Buoys are those at at the NW end of the swinging ground.
