Does anyone know of a cheap electronic barometer that records the pressure over at least a 24 hour period? I have seen the LaCrosse range, which seem quite good, but ideally I would like a small sensor that just plugs into my PC and provides an excel graph showing whats happening..(or similar) it would be so useful and give many of us the information kind of local, daily, forecast that we need.
Any ideas?

Hi

Try here ukweathershop.co.uk

I have a Vion barometer that does the biz - depends if you think that £60 is cheap! Had a good write up in a recent PBO or was it YM/ST?

Anyway, you find a whole range to choose from. No connection other than a very satisfied customer.

Cheers

Open the SVB website.

Click on the UK flag to see the english version
click on "Chart Table"
click on "Weather monitors"

Hope this helps

I have two Oregon Scientific units. One at home and the other on the boat.

When those babies say it's going to rain then it's going to rain!
It has time, pressure, temp. predicted weather (fine, cloud, showers, rain) and rel. humidity. Last 24hr by 1hr pressure history is also given.

You just need to set your altitude and off it goes.

I bought, in France, for €82, a Plastimo badged Vion. It gives memorised pressure for 24,12,6,2 & 1hr as well as current pressure, humidity and temperature.

The forecast symbology is surprisingly accurate, though Med weather does catch it out.

I've had it for 5 years and it's needed 3 sets of new batteries.
