Hello,
My next big job on the boat is the electical installation. Is there a mail order supplier somewhere who stocks things like tin plated cable and deck glands and all those thing quite specific to the marine environment.(cheap as well would be nice !)
Thanks.

Best bet is to look in PBO or some other mag. Ones that come to mind are Index Marine and Power Store? both in the Bournemouth/Poole area. There is also Barden Energy in Portsmouth area who do batteries and other bits though I am not to sure about cable, etc. Buy the best you can as it saves the agro factor (& money) in the long run.

Yes http://www.power-store.com although their website is currently undergoing an overhaul.

I am doing some rewiring and got most of my supplies from who are the el-cheapo arm of Farnell. The only things I didn't get was a fuse block (resorted to a swindlery for that), the deck connectors and heavy duty tin plated wire. CPC do some up to 16/0.2 (2.5 Amp) under the guise of alarm cable (I can't remember the catalogue No. but use their search facility for "tinned copper wire"). I think you'll have to pay a lot for the wire, I found some at Merlin called Lifetime wire but, ominously, there are no prices. If you have to ask the price you can't afford it? I'm going to use non-tinned wire and Waxoyl.
CPC/Farnell also do Bucaneer connectors, and although I prefer Dri-plugs, anything rated to IP67 should do the job. Screwfix also seem to be straying into the Chandlery business (Flag antifoul & paints), so its worth keeping an eye on their product lines.

I got most of my tinned copper wire from Farnell, they do 63/0.2 (2mm csa) for £14.70 ex Vat per 100m In a variety of colours. Go to
http://uk.farnell.com and search for MC6A-63 this will put you in the general direction.

For thicker cables you are generally looking at Ancor cable, and so far I have only found this in the chandlers.

RS also do tinned wire, but you'll have to search for it. Otherwise try your local Electrical Wholesaler who will be able to order it in for you - but as said, only up to about 2mm² size.
Hmm - just checked RS and they don't seem to list it up to 2mm² - only up to 1mm² - various colours - 100m reels for £9.61 The standard is BS4505 Part 2 - UL Equipment wire.
