"Dear Simon

Thank you for returning your equipment for repair, we are pleased to
submit our estimate as follows:

Raymarine ST1000+ s/n A12004 1150093

Fluxgate drive, PCB track broken. PCB surface corrosion under LCD –
clean, tin, laquer. LCD bezel/clamp broken – glue to PCB

Two hours labour £120.00

Total amount = £120.00 + postage, packing and handling £15.50 + VAT = £162.60

Please advise how you wish to proceed. If you decide not to go-ahead
and would like your instruments returned to you unrepaired, a minimal
charge is payable per unit, to cover our costs, this includes
instruments which are 'no fault found' which incur a minimum charge of
one hours labour (£60.00 + VAT)"

So, I could just pay to have it sent back and solder the track myself, save £100

I obviously should have taken it apart before posting it out ...

What would you guys do next ?
