Electrical grease

I use silicone grease. Tales of it messing up varnishing etc are exaggerated. It is easy enough to not get it on stuff you don't want it on. It is also simple enough to get it off if you do let it get on something. No need for sanding, grinding or atomic explosions, just wipe surfaces to be varnished with automotive panel wipe.

+1 Or these:

Multi-plug connector.... posts #15/16/17....

Some might think it 'weebly' that this poses a problem. 'Some' haven't had the contortions and pain just to get close enough to touch the shy and retiring female part. I cannot focus on it, but have to rely on touch. I'd rather not force it and break it. Replacement - now THAT would be a problem!

WFIW, here's a pic from the ever-helpful, saintly 'Adrian' of BM, Gloucester. This tells me how deep I need to go - and no further.

Reminds me of Italian motorcycle wiring, circa 1975.
