The original owner of "Balandra", a Princess 23 metre, died last year and the boat was sold. It is still on the Hamble at Universal Marina but is now renamed "Lucky Ash"

I'm gonna have to disagree with JFM, I've always felt that when there's a report of a yacht fire more often than not they are Sunseekers (haven't they had a few incidents at the yard?). But this could be down to the numbers built or just plain wrong.

No !
No insurance actuarial "chatter " effecting quotes .
Factory fire = industrial accident - too big an order book , too much pressure , too many deadlines , bigger boats , owners with bigger egos etc
Alledgedly Perhaps a few chaps in financial difficulties - not unknown in the boaty world -( know I will get flamed :(for this insinuation )
There are a lot about and many 80's 90 ,s sub 45 ftrs have gas -= poss under maintained ?

Seen a mixed bag of fires no pattern detected
