Electrical connections near to petrol tank on a RIB

I want to install a plotter on my Avon 4m RIB. The fuel tanks are Quicksilver red plastic tanks with a vent in the cap all sited within the console.

Do I need to take any special precautions with the electrical connections to avoid the risk of a spark eg wrapping all connections in self amalgamating tape or am I worrying unnecessarily?
