Electric Toilet Conversion 2200-0120

We are having a bit of bother with this unit as after using the toilet it removes the waste and regurgitates it through the flush!

Obviously this is not very nice so I presume its time to rebuild it with a service kit. Is this hard?

I also noticed whilst surfing for the service kit that the conversion unit appears to be sold with a filter which I assume goes on the inlet. I don’t have one – should I?

Yep, definitly time for a service, it is fairly easy to do, for any one with a very basic mechanical comprehension...

An inline filter (Pumpgard) is a good idea, and will stop water bourne debris from getting into the system.

To just be pedantic it's a 29200-0120.
I don't quite understand how it can regurgitate but servicing is a good place to start.
You will need a really long flatblade screwdriver to get the 4 screws out of the base.
They screw into plastic so be very careful when you rebulid to pick up the existing thread (done by turning carefully anticlockwise until you feel it drop into the thread.
I had to replace my whole unit last year and it came with a filter which I didn't bother to fit because where i am the water is very clear. Depends where you are and how much you can be bothered to change the existing arrangement.
hope this helps

The servicing is quite straightforward

The regurgitation comes from the small pipe passing from the lower to upper pumps. I think its purpose is to provide a small amount of water to the upper impeller during pump out to keep it lubricated, but yes it generally means somewhat pooey water getting sent round again.

Apparently this also significantly contributes to the smell after a weeks non use. I have converted on of mine to freshwater flush, and will do the other next winter.
