Electric scrapers from Lidl this Thursday

I used one of these to clean 15 years of AF off. I used the flexible blade which has a square edge. Still took a couple of weekends. Towards the end the spot welds on the sprung blade were failing but no complaints at that price.

Given the choice I'd rather do two weekends overtime in the office and pay someone to do it!

That's OK for those of you with a job! Some of us don't have!

You have no excuse then!

I reasoned that if I could do it in two weekends then it was worth doing myself rather than blasting for which I was quoted £400.

I then did the rudder and made a rough estimate on how long the rest would take. Two weekends easy!

I forgot two things.
- You need to sand the gel coat before priming which is a big job in itself.
- Cleaning the iron keel with an angle grinder. The blasting guys would have done this and applied a 'holding' coat of primer.

And the grout in our bathroom is still slightly blue...

antifouling is very toxic. make sure you use a face mask and do not breathe in the swarf/dust etc. If breathed in, you can get a problem similar to asbestosis or pit lung

Loads left at the New Malden branch!! Just been to get a couple for our boat and there must be at least 15-20 there!!

Extinguishers have all the right stickers, Aluminium body so weigh 500g less than the last offering and have plastic positive hold brackets.

For boat use the best yet.

Each store was allocated 10 units so be quick.

The ones I bought a couple of years ago have Al bodies, not steel anyway, I thought they might even be plastic!
