Can anyone recommend a polisher for using on a hull for buffing the wax polish when turned hazy. Preferably able to run at low revs as some of the fixed high speed ones can be a mite dodgy to use.

Oh and obviously, in the spirit of the forum -the cheaper the better /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I bought a £40 effort. Totally useless. I now get the yard to polish my hull every spring. They use a huge thing which does a great job.

I use a Bosh orbital sander with a mop that fits it from B&Q at 39.95 they are used on body work as they dont burn the paint spinning in one place they sort of viberate slighly not noticed, and the speed can be turned down so slow you can stop it with your hand It polishers very well If you want the model No get in touch.

the Toolstation Silverline is fine for smaller boats. Its a bit heavy, but then its £250 cheaper than a pro model!
You ll need a few sponges, mops heads etc, and a selection of Farecla grades. Start with the finest, keep the polisher moving and whatever you do, do not let the gel get hot. A spray bottle of water can lubricate...
If the gel is coloured be very careful not to go too thin.
Once you have done that, you can change mops heads and polish/wax.
Never used them, but the 3M pastes and polishes are said to be very good (and smaller quantity than the farecla which will last you several lifetimes). Try 3M web pages for info

Last year I used one of those cheap "made in China labeled with an English name" car polish buffers. Worked a treat!
I was sitting down taking a beer, finished while others were halfway along the first side doing it manually...

Nuff said!

I bought a silverline sander / polisher 668445 off ebay for about £40 including 3 mops Fantastic bit of kit used with Farecla Fibreglass polishing paste made a 28 year old boat look like new.. Only complaint the plastic handle broke when I dropped it !
