Electric Charges

I recall that in the last couple of years it was made illegal for marinas to sell on electricity at anything other than the price they pay for it i.e. approx 6p per unit. They got round it by charging a standing charge.

My marina has just opened new moorings with card meters and they are charging 18p per unit but no standing charge. This is OK if you don't use much but a winter of heaters/de-humidifiers etc would probably put us out of pocket.

Anyone know if the rules have changed again to allow this?

I was wondering about this recently, we have a mooring with our flat and pay by meter card for the mooring lecky, since last summer the cost per unit seems to have rocketed, still buy it in £5 cards but they do not last long at all now!

DO the same rules apply to private moorings which are lease hold along with flats? We pay maintenance on the pontoons and electricity boxes etc.
