Great. I've already read the PBO review, and it seems I can get the YM extra for free. Thanks - you just saved me the cost of your magazine.

Cheers - she looked like alot of fun.
I guess those who were concerned about twin rudders creating extra drag can stop worrying now !

YM is far more than just the 6 pages on the Elan 310, which concentrates on the boat rather than it's family tree ;)

There's also a Canada charter (one of the remotest, most beautiful and awe-inspiring places I've ever sailed), A winter delivery in a contessa 26 from Hamble to Plymouth, The tsunami survivors, Deben destination, MOB getting them back on board (and quick buyers’ guide to pushpit safety stuff), Hilary Lister's story (An amazing, incredible and inspirational woman), Rod Heikell’s Silver surfers, Biscay Triangle and the couple who were boarded by customs twice in one day! Plus the 10-page Blue Water Gear Test - interviews with the crews of the Blue water Round the world Rally about which kit worked and what didn't, Not to mention the boat tests (one you know about), the columnists , Confessional etc etc,

So while you think you're saving money, you're missing out on some great stuff

Anyway YM is the only magazine to give you 360s of almost every new boat tested, an extra gallery of unseen images, and a video of the boat sailing.

And we give you wallpapers, extra letters on line, extras to the articles that we can't fit into the magazine, videos of gear tests etc etc etc

What do PBO give you on top of the magazine?...Eh? :D

The Desolation sound bit was great!

Do you reckon it would be better chartering a Mobo??

Thanx :) It really was amazing, we found it incredibly hard to put it into words, and capture it in photographs and do it justice.

As is says in the article we didn't get a lot of sailing. Whether it always like that, or whether we had a "typical" week I don't know.

For the times we could sail, with no noise, horns shipping or any other boats, it was so remote and quiet....To take a mobo there and then would almost be criminal...In fact even people with outboards on their dinghies rowed them everywhere.

Do I wish we'd been on a mobo while we were out there?...not really, 5 knots is about the speed you'd want to travel to take in the scenery...OK I lied, maybe once when it was chucking it down, that day did go on a bit longer than I wanted it to

[edit]
Actually twice, when Ric, who has a nut allergy, became aware he'd eaten something that had been in contact with nuts! Then you realise how remote the place really is, we were at the stage of working out the shortest distances to civilisation or somewhere a seaplane landed, when his effects started to reduce, rather than spiral out of control...Then would have been a good time for a mobo! :)

Seems to be generating a lot of interest now the reviewers are saying what i expected all along :)

I fell in love with this boat as soon as i saw it, there were a few doubters over her sailing ability but the reviews i've seen have been nothing but praise :phew:

Now just got to wait til the second hand market starts offering them :(

There's ... MOB getting them back on board

There's always a MOB article in YM. Along with "We explore some quiet harbours in the Solent", which I'll bet is in there, though you forgot to mention it ...

Just to show I'm not biassed, I'll point out that PBO has run "Coming into your berth under power - we make it easy" in every single edition since 1974!
