This thread appears to have reached the point that contributors should agree to disagree and leave it at that until EGNOS comes on full stream. That is if it ever does.

It would seem to me that there is now agreement that WAAS accuracy is not obtainable in Europe, if only because the ionspheric corrections are not available.

Brendan, that is a fair point that I hadn't thought of.

There is work to integrate the corrections and provide a seamless transition between geo areas but still some issues to address. Bit like tape standards, everyone thinks their own is the best.

I sometimes wonder whether standards are worth the trouble, eg NMEA
