I need some not-so-glossy paint.
Is it right that adding talc filler powder to ordinary gloss paint will work OK?
How much?
Does this work with modern water based 'gloss'?
Any brands to favour or avoid?
Needs to be weather proof.
TIA.

I have found Johnstone's Trade Eggshell to be good, having used it for the interior of a classic on wood, primed bronze and aluminium (mast). It is oil-based and either comes in a few premixed colours or can be mixed to any shade. It takes a week or two for the final egshell finish to emerge. Two seasons on, it seems to be impervious to condensation, cooking vapours and the odd splash of salt water.
