I am bored today as its too cold to paint/varnish/filler/epoxy glue.
So here is an update, cabin and bog are painted, cept cabin roof inside, that needs top coat, some of the lockers lids and door and shelves and stuff are done but most are still in undercoat, the cockpit has now had two coats, one undercoat, one half and half, one more half and half required and then a top coat should have it done.
The topsides have had their first of five coats, made a big diff too, begining to look like a boat, the deck needs one more coat and is sanded ready (so its shoes off on deck) and the bastard little trim between deck and cabin sides is sanded and needs two more coats of epifanes making total 6 coats.
The windows, ah yes the windows, what a mess the windows, lots of the screw holes that hold the frames (bout 300 of the wee blighters) are run out and the screws go round and round (much like the magic roundabout) I wanted to syringe epoxy into the holes masking tape over then re-drill, but Pete the shipwright that has fixed lots of fairey boats says no good as epoxy harder than wood and when re-drilling drill will go off sideways like drilling a steel bolt out of a alloy casting, so he says, strips of wood, bout 4mm square, sharpen end to pointy bit, dunk in epoxy and tap into hole, then chisel off flat. 300 of the buggers......so did a trial on 20 or so yesterday, today epoxy gone rock hard so chiseled end off, and trial fitted window frame, worked a treat cept chisel all blunt as have been used for opening tins of paint etc, so off to B and Q (what a crap shop) only had a sharpening stone with a set of 5 chisels so I now have a total of 13 chisels, came home and sat in kitchen drinking tea de-frosting my toes and sharpened all chisels which are now bloody sharp.
Oh, and the reason for the post being titled egg sarnies is cos that what I took with me yesterday and jolly good they were too, and monday and tues day I had brie with lettuce and cucumba sarnies.
"Who was he?"
