effin\' traffic

London Lymington took 3.5 hours yesterday. twice the normal.

Rather than licencing boats and skippers, I reckon we should licence cars and test the drivers. The would cut down on congestion and accidents.

Oh, sorry, you mean we already do?

Re: effin\' traffic

Public transport? Train to Soton, Red Jet to Cowes, bus to Yarmouth, Ferry to Lymington .. would that have been quicker?

Re: effin\' traffic

It took me 4 1/2 hours to go the 315 miles to Lorient from home on Friday. On Saturday I cleaned and antifouled and Sunday went out (alone) for the first sail of the season. Beautiful warm sunny day: just got the sails up and the tiller snapped in the jaws.

The trouble with living so far from home is that when you go there the weekend everything is closed if something goes wrong and needs to be fixed.

So now I'm back moaning on the forum instead of enjoying another days sail.

It took me 6 hours to go home because I went back via La Trinité where Spi Ouest France was on. ( About 1000 boats I think and the traffic was proportional). Next weekend is the Trophée des Multicoques (currently in Lorient) where the big tri's will be racing inside Groix.
