I've looked through the OPenCPN documentation and can't see how to remove the bits of track at the beginning and end of a trip when you've switched on the nav system but haven't started properly and similarly at the end of a trip (maybe watching for an anchor drag). The route and track manager allow a whole track to be deleted, but I can't see how to delete the individual legs of a trip.

Any suggestions?

To cut off the initial and trailing garbage from a track, open the track properties, select the appropriate line from which you want to use it and then click the "Split" button at the bottom. You will now have two tracks, with the suffixes _A and _B appended to tell them apart. Simply delete the one you don't want. Repeat for the arrival time.
