Anyone got any experience with one of these?

Just had a nice chat with the chap from Sailfishmarine and he suggested I consider it as a unit.

Can't find much about it or peoples views on long term reliability.

It's very odd I did a search and the only reference to the system is a You Tube short film. If it doesn't have a Web site with full details I would avoid it, it could be a one man band with limited spares availability. Also you want to avoid proprietory parts and chemicals because they are much more expensive than off the shelf parts and chemicals used in most water makers. Spectra is one to avoid and Ecosystems may be another but who knows.

Thanks . Anyone got any first hand experience?

Will go back to Katadyn unless anyone else has a better idea re watermakers (12v DC)

I have had an Eco-Sistems 60 litre watermaker for 10 years. The last 8 years it has had frequent use as we are liveaboards although I admit most of the use has been for the 10-14 day flush rather than actual production.

I've just changed the membrane (normal life I understand is about 7 years so quite pleased).

I don't have experience of your unit but the Eco-Sistems high pressure pump seems very robust needing very little attention (2 services in 10 years).

The downside is that the UK distributor I bought from, GenAcis, went out of business several years ago (not because of watermakers) and I don't think there is another in the UK. So you have to deal with Eco-Sistems in Barcelona when you need proprietary things. I've not found that very easy as contact by email on their secure site does not always elicit a response.

We are currently in Gran Canaria and have used local Spanish suppliers to obtain things from them. This has been very successful as they overcame the language barrier for me so the basic service ethic is there if you can overcome the language issue.

Cheers,

Bob
