I need to arrange a marina berth for three weeks in May. Somewhere in the Solent area on the mainland side.

I would rather not pay a fortune to MDL/Premier etc.

Any ideas?

Ta very much

Try the foulkes chandler barge at Swannick, they'll fit you in.

Its not dead posh, in fact its not very post at all, in fact, its shabby and run down.

Do you need deep water? Some of the smaller yards in Portsmouth Harbour or Chichester Harbour may have a space but it will be a drying mooring. They will be cheaper than MDL! Ditto possible swinging moorings right up Fareham Creek.

Kemp's Quay in the Itchen? Mostly drying, but I think they have some all tide berths.

Not the glitziest part of Southampton, but, like the Barge at Swanwick, what you get is what you pay for.
