Instructions imply connecting red & black leads for power. The instrument is about 15 years old but unused, it has three pins with no apparent definition. Looking at the back, two pins are parallel horizontal and the third in the centre below. It appears I have lost a plug which should not matter once the pins are identified.

Does anyone please know which is red and which is black and which is the extra pin and what it does?

Many thanks for any help you can give.

Can you not get behind the plug, the third pin is probably not used for anything and is just a generic plug/socket used for many things.
