I am trying to connect an Echopilot FLS Gold II to a Raymarine C80 classic. The Echopilot plug connection is an 8 pin mini din. I have searched the web for a wiring diagram but no success. I was planning to use a raymarine nmea cable and fit a standard 8 pin mini din plug to it.

Any help would be much appreciated to avoid playing wiring roulette.

Can't you get an Echopilot cable with plug and flying lead?

The raymarine and echopilot cables are both around £39, making it an expensive option to connect both cables. If I had the wiring diagram for the echopilot socket I could fit a 99p mini din plug on the raymarine cable.

With a multimeter, you ought to be able to decide which pin is the white wire, as it should be grounded. Similarly, the red wire has +5v on it so should be identifiable. The green wire is described as Power, so presumably has +12v. That leaves 5 pins - trial and error should find the orange wire for NMEA out.
