I have bought an Echopilot Bronze+ Trio but the flying lead is missing. The instruction booklet only gives the colour of the wires for connection. However I need the actual pinout of the 8 pin mini DIN as the plug and cable I have sourced has different colours . In fact I'm not planning to fit the paddle wheel so the pins for 12v+ and Ground/-ve and NMEA +and - would suffice.
It would seem that all information on Echopilot legacy products has been erased by the new owners.
Many thanks

Many thanks for that. I've already emailed him and am hoping for a reply.

But maybe my best hope is for some kind soul who owns an Echopilot Trio to put a meter across their flying lead and tie up the wire colours with the pins.

One of these by any chance? Sorry about quality. If you think one is possible say which one & i will take a better photo
They both have tails so colours are there. one may be from my now discarded BT ( useless rubbish, you are wasting your time by the way!!)

I had an echo pilot, which i chucked. i usually save plugs etc & i found these 2 in the drawer. If they fit the EBT then by exposing the wires one only has to plug it in & connect the wires up.You will have the colours in the right pins. I cannot find the instruction manual at present & I may well still have it.

You are not fitting the paddle wheel. Why? is it because it does not work? I ask because the usual problem is that a tiny magnet fits in a small hole in the paddle vane. It drops out & the paddle does not work.Put one back & it may work again.
I took mine( it was brand new) to the boat show to find out how to wire it up ( I had agro trying to sort the wiring ) and whilst I was on the stand the magnet fell out in the blokes' hand. he noticed it & gave me a new paddle there & then.

He sketched out how to wire it & i may have that sketch in an old logbook. i will look later on if it helps.

This sounds very promising thank you.

I have the instruction manual already.

Unfortunately the cable and plug I have acquired has different colour wires from the EBT so I have to establish the pinout. I would be willing to send a few quid for your plug, cable and postage if you can spare it.

The paddle wheel was used in another boat I was involved with and has been sold.

Don't worry about the sketch too much at the moment. Maybe I could get back to you if I too have agro.

Many thanks

Let me do another picture first and if it is Ok then you can have it to you free gratis.
If it helps you out that is my good deed for the day. Then i will feel happier about upsetting a few more forumites tomorrow
