Having 'upgraded' to a D2 airtronic I 'let' my friend have my old D1LC. He has seen it working on my boat but says it will not work on his!!
Specifically he says there is only 5 volts being delivered to the pump.
I have asked him to ensure that his wiring is sound and of the correct diameter for the length used.
I can think of nothing 'inside' the Eber which would account for such a voltage drop.
Are there any pearls of wisdom before I have to go chasing over to Hull only to find a duff connection.
Regards to all

Sounds like your right - duff connection or not big enough wires! Low batteries also possiblility.

Poor installation is always the death of these - so you might have to go sort his one out!

If this is the fuel pump, it is fed with pulsed DC, 5v might be the reading on a multimeter, far better to measure the supply to the DILC while it is starting up, anything less than 12v ish would cause problems, electric string will not do ! these things draw 20 amps or so during start up.

Following on from everyone elses comments - as you know, the pump is being powered directly from the eber unit - it is best to make sure that the unit is drawing the power on start up before worrying about the pump voltage - although a quick check of all the external power connections is not a bad idea!

If you measure the voltage on the battery while it goes through start up you should see a significant drop in voltage as it draws its 20amp start up current (some glow plug!).
I believe these are the units that may lock out after a certain number of misfires ....
