Having aquired an eberspacher d3 (not airtronic) from a friend i set about rigging it up in the garage. When the reostat switch was turned to the fully on position the heater started an burst into life first time then ran continuously for about 30 mins but when i tried to reduce the heat the heater continued to run at full power. My understanding is that the heater motor and fuel pump should begin to slow down reducing the heat. Do the old d3's monitor the intake air like the airtronics and detect an increase of temp before they run at lower settings as the intake air was about -2. Any help or advice would be appreciated regards Gerry.
