Over the past 18 months had problems with my Eberspacher Airtronic unit: tried various boat and vehicle companies - even Skipper Stu came and looked at it!

However, received information from satisfied customer about CPC Ltd [Auto Electrics] of Telford, Shropshire. Took my Eberspacher there, and one week later - it works! Pleasant and very helpful staff with reasonable charges.

Recommended.

No connection with CPC - apart from a now fully functional Eberspacher! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Seems that it had locked itself out and not reset. They started from a checkover and basic reset, and then ran it on a test bed for over two hours.
They said that to maintain these heaters in full working order, the unit should be run once a week - not the spasmodic use that yachties make of their heaters. [Much of their Eberspacher servicing that they carry out was on local authority ambulances.]
The other recommendation was to run it on full heat for the first 15-20 minutes of each occasion. It seems that the nozzle gets carboned up, and then things go downhill - hence the problem with my Eberspacher.
Hope this helps!

[/ QUOTE ]Interesting. We have been using the Eber all winter as the electricity is expensive where we are. If I have it on low for hours I can hear a slight splutter from time to time. After running on full for a while, that clears. I'll make a point of running it on full for at least 20 mins from now on. Thanks.
