The LCD screen lighting, on my D4 programmer, has chosen to remain on 24/7 and I can find no reference to illumination settings in the instructions. Until recently the light would come on as soon as one of the buttons was pressed and go out after a short period.

Anyone know if there is a method of setting the illumination period, or is this a fault?

Illuminated whilst \"on\"

If your unit is exhibiting changed behaviour from what you had seen, it would suggest a fault has developed somewhere. All I can say is that on mine, the illumination is on all the time the unit is running (even if it has powered down due to temperature in the cabin being reached). The only time the illumination goes off is when you switch off or it is waiting for a "timed" switch on. Have you tried disconnecting the timer unit and reconnecting in case it has got "stuck"; with no external power, the LEDs will go off. The internal battery is only to keep the memory going for any timer settings you've programmed.

Cheers, Jerry

Re: Illuminated whilst \"on\"

Hi Jerry,

The unit did, indeed, work as you describe. I had one of those Doh! moments driving home from the boat, when it suddenly occurred to me that I should have tried isolating the controller in the hope that it might "re-boot" something.

Thanks Cliff,

This was my intention, but guess who forgot to bring the details with him to work?
I'll look for the number on the net and give them a call, glad to hear that they are helpful.

How many manhours (womanhours) are lost each day due to forumites skiving off to play on the forum?

Anyway Eber Techie guy fixed my eber problem over the phone and saved me buying a new installation even though the so called Ebber repair bod swore blind it was b*ll*xed and needed replaced. 10/10 for effort and result.
