hello to all I hope that someone may be able to help me, i have eberspacher d3l that was working fine but now it does not start up it just keeps running (longer than the usual 3min startup) the fan appears to start correctly but no clicking from meter pump, i have put a test meter onto the pump leads and there is no voltage at that point (i presume should be pulsing 12v) . i am now at a loss as to wot components control power to the pump so any help would be appreciated. i have read many of the eber threads in these forums but do apologize if info is already out there and i have missed it.

I will try next time Im testing an eber but what meter are you testing the pump with ? perhaps the 12 v pulse will not register 12v ( though I would expect something) Does the unit have the external control box ( I never see D3s)
Perhaps test the pump resistance and test the pump by flashing 12v at one of the terminals.

I too doubt a meter would be able to register the 12v pulses.

Test the pump by usng some flying leads from a known 12v source.

Remove the existing eberspacher leads from it.... hold one flying lead to one connection on the pump and touch the other on and off and see if you hear the clicking. The pump isn't polarised so it does not matter which side is + or -.

Fingers crossed it's the pump as i would think that would be the cheapest and easiest to replace.

thanks for your replies i had already tested pump itself which is functioning correctly . but to update i have fouind another controller amongst spares and have fitted it and that has got everything warm and toastie. however i am now wondering whether the control box is servicable so am intending to take knife to old one and see what is inside, will let anybody interested know whetrher i end up with scrap or a spare controller!
