Eberspacher help needed again!

Just bought a Sealine 305 with a Eberspacher, when we turn it on it runs for about 5 secs then drains the battery and shuts off. Batts are new and fully charged, tried with engine running and it ran OK until I shut the engine down. Tried to start the engine again but only ran a short time. It appears that when it tries to fire, it shorts...any tips guys??

How many ampers are your bats?
Are you using your cranking bats or aux?
What eberspacher have you got ie, 12v or 24v?
Are you using a converter?
What is your bat gauge showing on ignition before starting the engine as they may not of charged up after draining first time.

bats showing 12.8 each-120ah each-heater is 12v

Eber needs at least 13 volts to start up. Mine would never run right unless shore power or engines were going.

Agree with what has been said already, but remeber to check the voltage as close as possible to the input of the Eber. Ie, after the fuses. Dont simply check at the battery terminals.

Yes, that would make sense as even with shore power plugged or engine running it fails sometimes. May have an over enthusiastic resister! Not easy for me at the moment to crawl under the deck...got a fractured shoulder...SWMBO may get a crash course in electrics! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
