My 3DLc stopped working this weekend - no red or green lamps so I assume the fuse has blown.

This was professionally installed some years ago but where is the fuse fitted? I've looked at the control unit and the in-cabin thermostat.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

See also my post earlier today about the fuel supply.

In my DL5 the fuse holders are part of the wiring loom that came with the heater. They are likely to be beside the battery. Mine has car-type blade fuses - a light one for the electronics and a heavy one for the heater.

My instruction books have a good wiring diagram. If you have that it should also help.

Usually externally in the positive supply line, a big black plastic thing. The fuse holders have been known to give connection problems. We used to remove the original fuseholders and fit an in line car blade type holder instead.

Hi chances are its not the fuse, but there is a reset button on the heating unit itself, occasionally this needs resetting its some sort of overload protection, if the power is switched of to it before it has run its closing down program I think it needs resetting then. If you look at the top of t he unit there is an oblong rubber gromet if you press the centre of this I think you will feel a switch opperate if so this is your problem. it resets the overlaod switch.

Second fuse location...

If it's an older unit, and if the safety cutout isn't the problem, and if the main inline fuse in the wiring harness is OK, you may find another fuse in the control box. It's a screw-in type of fuse, so you'll only see a little black plastic knob about 5mm high. As I recall, the fuse is a slow-blow type. Sorry this is a little vague, but memory isn't what it was! Incidentally, it's not shutting down due to low voltage is it? In cold weather, batteries sometimes won't supply enough voltage to fire up the Eberspacher unless the engine's running.

I managed to inadvertantly pull my fuse a while ago, its in the main loom from the battery... but I would check out PVBs suggestion first... My unit never wants to work when its cold!... due to low power inthe batts.

Many thanks for all your posts - I'll try them all tomorrow.

If anyone has any further ideas - keep them coming!!

Once again, many thanks

Value of fuse below the black cap on the controller box, 10 Amp, slow blow

good luck
