what are they worth?

"found" some 12 V ones, all very good order, just wondered what sort of money they changed hands for nowadays?

ideas?

I wouldn't bother... gotta be the most expensive and complicated way of producing heat known to man.

I have one, all pro fitted (came with the boat) takes up loads of space with all the ducting etc. and the amount of heat that finaly finds its way out of the end is pathetic.

I would spend the cash on a pair of thermal socks and a holiday in Spain.

Maybe yours is set up wrongly, or inadequately specified for the size of boat? A Moody I guess has lots of volume.

Mine is the maximum size of boat recommended for the unit, but it has loads of power to spare and gets the cabin very toasty within a minute or so after warming up. I also used it happily down to about minus 10 in winter, and it coped no problem at all.

The fact that the ducting occupies space on you boat suggests that maybe your ducting is on the long side? On my installation (which I did myself) I kept the ducting as short as possible, so it uses no locker space. I didn't bother trying to incorporate a second outlet for the forecabin, and I don't miss it.

short ducting is the answer. I have no problems with heating my boat with my eber. If you have long ducts, wouuld be worth covering them in thinsulate - keto do a version that fits to already installed systems

A quick scan of eBay will give you an idea what people are prepared to pay for a second hand unit.
Some points I have picked up;
1. Prices seem to be going up. What I paid for mine a couple of years ago wouldn't get a non-runner now.
2. 24v units go for about half what a 12v would realise.
3. Later DLC's and DLCc's go for more than DL's, but the older ones with seperate control boxes are simpler and probably better for boats because they don't need dealer resets after failing to fire up.
4. There are very few complete second hand installation sets including exhaust of decent length, ducting and skin fitting. The conclusion is that once they are installed they tend to stay on the boat, rather than get sold on if and when found to be unsuitable.

a guy eberbasto advertises on ebay I bought a 12v one for £300 with most fittings after several wally factor problems I have a warm boat. he sells a thru hull s/s exhaust for £45 if I remember right eber charge telephone numbers. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
