My Ford transit camper van is getting a bit long in the tooth for SWIMBO and I want to use the Ebberspacher in the boat.
The existing control (a rheostat) on the actual unit only allows working for one hour then has to sleep for an hour.
This has been a bit of a problem in the van and will be even less convenient in the boat wher ethe unit willl be hidden away in the after end.
I was looking at the wiring to see if I could fit a remote thermostat timer but the wires are not quite as shown in the Ebber diagram. I think that Ford or the convertersdid a bit of there own thing. There is for eg no grey lead into the control unit and the rheostat has a purple rather than yellow lead. The purple lead goes into a bolted on (English made control unit) which also has a yellow lead plus a white lead which features nowhere on the diagram.
Has anyone seen this arrangement and can anyone advise on fitting a timer (and why the one hour between heat cycles) ??
Please guys don't fail me as its me that has to get up in my undies to turn the dam thing on!!
Best wishes to all.
