Thought i'd ask here as Facebook seems to be flooded with the Chinese versions (and accessories).

My Eberspacher D4 exhaust is noisy and not fair on neighbours, time to do something about it.

I'm in Ireland so trying to avoid UK due to customs (although happy to pay for a quality product).

Had a quick Google and found this: 24MM MARINE AIRTIGHT EXHAUST SILENCER FOR EBERSPACHER WEBASTO DIESEL HEATER | eBay

Any idea how much these weigh? (I'm about to message seller above). I'm wondering if I need a dedicated bracket for this (would complicate things) or would the exhaust be strong enough to hold this vertically?

I'll also need to measure the diameter of my exhaust tomorrow, these seem to come in 22mm / 24mm / 30mm diameter.

Opinions?

I fitted one of these.

UK manufactured, high quality and it really reduced the howl from my exhaust

Thanks. I actually messaged that guy. They're not that expensive so even with customs i'll be happy with it.

I need to measure the diameter of my exhaust pipe to be sure, but it's a genuine exhaust pipe from a D4.

Where did you source your clamps?

Any idea of weight? Did you need a dedicated bracket for it?
 
the silencer which came with my Russian Chinaspacher made a dramtic difference to the exhaust racket made by my heater.

I also fitted one of these and it works very well as hardly any noise and I wanted a decent quality exhaust inside the boat. My heater is Chinese having checked all the data I know the expensive ones are a rip off based on the court case. I used a Solar fixing bracket onto existing bolts holding on my swim platform then the small Angle bracket to hold the exhaust. All bandaged up with exhaust tape. If you need help with bandage or brackets I am in Bantry area. The postage from UK is hit and miss. I ordered a Dynamator for the car and it arrived in 2 days via DPD however a delivery via AddressPal took 2 weeks as it was held up in Dublin customs although no duty/tax payable. Some sellers will not even send to Ireland at the moment.

Can't remember but think they came with the chinaspacher heater. Didn't use the bracket as it is supported on 2 short pipes. If in doubt buy the one with a bracket. A quality item, you will be pleased with it
