Hey Guys,

Recently I bought a ford nugget campervan (so no boat, sorry guys ;) ) and the Eberspacher in it seems to be broken. After googling a bit, I found quite some knowledge regarding these units on your forums so I figured I'd ask you guys for some help/info's.

I have a Eberspacher D3L P, with an external Ecu. It's linked to a westfalia E153 control unit, which also has fault-displaying features. When i start the heater, it gives me Error 94. Google tells me this has to do with the ECU (EEPROM error). I dismantled the external ECU and checked for loose soldering/corrosion, none to be found. Also checked the heater itself, looked good and couldn't find anything. So the most likely conclusion is that i need a new ECU. Thing is, new these are quite expensive (€350 / 400+ dollars). If I need to spend the 350 euro's, I will. What makes me a bit unconfortable, is that I'm not 100% sure if that will solve my problem. So I have a question;

On Ebay I saw quite a few ECU's. The housing and pins look the same as mine, but the model number is often different, e.g. 25 1688 50 0005 instead of 25 1688 50 00 37. I was wondering if anyone knows whether (and under which circumstances) these things are interchangeable or if I really need the exact number?

Thanks in advance for your replies!

Kind regards,
Rich
