My recently acquired boat is fitted with the above type of heater which was working fine until last weekend when it stopped heating and filled the boat with fumes instead. The pump and fan kept going even with the contol in the off position and in the end the only way to turn it off was by turning off the battery master switch. Turning the electrics back on caused the heater to start up again but still no heat, only diesel fumes. Has anyone experienced this problem.

Hi there is a tiny filter on the inlet side of fuel pump,do not touch outlet side, when was it last serviced, regards mm1.

Give it a good decoke - it isn't difficult if you know one end of a spanner from the other. The kit costs about £25 and it'll take you a couple of hours first time you do it, and half an hour onece you've done it a couple of times. Also, look on FleaBay for bits as they're a fraction (I've paid 1/4) of the price from the Eberspacher people.

Oh, and all the manuals are available on-line as well.
