Does anyone know if a Control Switch (p/n 25 1895 71 0000) from the Airtronic D2/D4 will work as a replacement switch (p/n 25-1380 89 04 00) for the D3-L air heater?
My D3-L switch has seized, the switch is obsolete and unavailable and I cannot find a replacement part number. Current switch is a fairly simple single pole, four position (vent, on, high heat, low heat) rotary switch 12v/assumed 20amp. The trick is knowing how low heat is accomplished. If "low heat" (I'm told half voltage to fan and fuel pump) is accomplished in the switch then possibly the Airtronic D2 switch with a rheostat might work. I do not have access to the D2 switch but I imagine it is a detent design except for the heat position, in which case it should work. Sorry the site will not let me post a picture.
