I went to the boat this week to find the eberspacher control panel blank. It's either a d2 or d4 I suspect 8-10 years old but has 4 outlets and has the 7 day timer control with blue logo.

I have checked the 2 fuses and all fine and there is 12.5v current to the connector just behind the control panel so am assuming I need a new panel but.... Do they really just fail and is it just plug a new one and all will be fine or could some other part have failed with it?

Many thanks for any help

They are quite robust and rarely fail. If it has they do turn up cheap on ebay. Let us have a photo. Sounds like the 701 10 series if so make sure it is the one with the blue logo not the white logo
as appears on the BT van version.
Should you need the heater you can make it work by connecting the yellow and the red lead at the timer connector.

Hi thanks for this. Are you saying to make it work in the meantime I must connect yellow and red and that will give me constant heat?

Thanks in advance

Yes that is correct. The yellow is effectively the 'trigger' which when connected to 12v +ive will start the heater and allow it to run albeit without heat setting or timer.

EBay is good but ensure you get the blue logo and the air heater not water heater model.

PS 2 on ebay now one at £49 and one at £100+

The cheap one looks like the right model reading the instructions.
I am temped to buy it for stock!! But by all means have first go!!

Brilliant thank you both. Can't see the eBay item at £49 but does the yellow and red need connecting to an earth or not?
